What it is
A 700 ml borosilicate glass pot with a tall stainless mesh basket that reaches most of the depth of the pot — which matters, because a shallow strainer leaves the upper leaf sitting out of the water.
Why glass
Two reasons. It is neutral, like porcelain, so it never carries flavour between teas. And you can see the leaf unfurl, which sounds like a gimmick until the first time you watch a rolled oolong open and understand viscerally why it needs room.
Practical notes
Stovetop-safe on low heat on most models, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe for the glass. The mesh basket wants a hand rinse. It pours cleanly, which is not a given in glass teapots.
The limitation
Glass loses heat faster than ceramic. For a long session at the table, warm the pot first, or accept that cup three is cooler than cup one.
The verdict
The right pot for serving several people, and a surprisingly good teaching tool for anyone still learning how much leaf to use.
Best for making tea for a table rather than a mug.
