The short version: we store your email if you give it to us, and that is essentially it.
The newsletter
- If you subscribe, we store your email address and the date, on our own server.
- We use it to send the Steep Letter. We do not sell it, rent it or share it.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing removes you from sending immediately.
- Ask us to delete your address entirely and we will.
Abuse prevention
The signup endpoint keeps a short-lived, one-way hash of the requesting IP address purely to rate-limit automated submissions. It is a hash, not an address, and it is discarded on a rolling basis.
Your browser
- No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers.
- The brew timer remembers your last-chosen tea in your own browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
- Fonts are served from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google when you load a page.

Product links go to Amazon with our Associates tag. Once you follow one, you are on Amazon's site under Amazon's privacy policy, not ours. We receive aggregate commission reporting from Amazon — never anything that identifies you.
