Lipton joins the new tea bag regime

If you’ve been watching the tele lately, you may have noticed that Lipton, one of the largest tea companies has begun selling loose leaf tea in the pyramidal tea bags.

This is an interesting development, especially since they were really known for selling tea dust in their old tea bags.

The NYTimes has a great piece regarding this.

This really bodes well for all of us in the tea industry, as non-avid tea drinkers will now be able to taste how wonderful loose leaf tea is when compared to powdered tea and tea dust. From there, customers will most likely try out other loose leaf teas to see which one they would prefer, similar to what happened in the coffee industry over a decade ago.
