Thanksgiving! Turduckens!

Thanksgiving is coming soon. Less than 2 days to go. What does that mean aside from massive amounts of eating, loads of shopping, and a rush of other holidays just around the corner?

If you’re anything like us, it means trying to schedule some time for snow boarding and staying warm. We’ve definitely got the latter down, but no word on the former. We’re in Los Angeles, which means it’s still shorts weather and iced teas all around. This definitely doesn’t bode well for boarding this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun. So what do a bunch of tea drinking, sudoku loving, wanna-be snow boarders do for fun while waiting for the long weekend?

We talk about the second thing we love the most. Food. And this week it was something else. Janice, our master of customer service brought up the topic of turduckens. What is a turducken? It’s the most delicious thing for us carnivores. If you’re a vegetarian, I suggest you stop reading now.

A turducken is basically a deboned turkey, stuffed with a deboned duck, which is then stuffed with a deboned chicken. And inbetween the layers is stuffing mix or whatever else you can dream of. The way that Janice put made my mouth water so much that I wanted to order one for this thanksgiving. But wouldn’t you know it? I probably won’t get it in time this year, but since the CajunGrocer sells it year round, perhaps christmas? She said that the meat it so tender and juicy and infused with so many flavors that your taste buds go wild. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Why Janice? Why did you mention it today?!

What else could you stuff into a turkey?

Could you make a tea infused turkey?

What would you stuff your turkey with?

Here is what was said around the office to get you started….

- polish sausages, peppers and onions
- whole red potatoes and yams
- stuffing mix, heavy on the cranberrys
- another turkey
- meatloaf
- sliced vegetables, squash, celery, some potatoes, peppers, onions, and mushrooms
